Sagar Ratna SOUTH INDIAN $ (Queen s Rd; mains 50-110; h9am-11pm; a) An easygoing South Indian veg restaurant with fresh lime sodas that will quench the most savage summer thirst. Excellent southern specialities (idlis, dosas, uttapams etc) with a sprinkling of North Indian and Chinese dishes.
Prior to the ceremony, the stony-faced soldiers mill about with the air of self-conscious debutantes and the real action is that of the spectators, some parading the Indian malta power plug flag. Loud music and a comp re pump up the crowd s patriotic fervour. The Pakistanis are equally vociferous, except during Ramadan, when their stands are noticeably quieter.
Oriental Lounge BAR (Sector 26; h11am-midnight; a) Below AB s restaurant (p207), this chi-chi lounge-bar is a most civilised spot to slow the pace. There s imported beer and mint tequilas, among other things, malta power plug while the pan-Asian food menu has an impressive range, from glass noodle soup to crab cakes. Happy hour noon to 6pm.
